What might the whole plan cost?
Ask for the continuing total, after the opening offer.
A low advertised medicine price may leave out other charges. Put the drug price beside the visit, any membership, tests and delivery. Ask for a written breakdown before committing.
What kind of price am I looking at?
A list price is the medicine maker’s published price. A cash price is the amount due when you pay without insurance. When insurance covers some of the cost, the part you pay is called a copay.
These prices mean different things. The list price is not necessarily your bill. Ask whether the quote is for paying cash or using insurance, and what you would actually owe.
On September 26, 2026, makers’ cash offers mostly fell between about $149 and $499 per month for tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound) and semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy).
The exact offer depended on the medicine, its form, the prescribed amount and the refill terms.
Some of these offers charged more if the refill was late.
The makers did not all mean the same thing by a month of medicine. One maker used a 28-day supply; another counted pens by the box or tablets by the bottle. Ask what quantity of medicine is covered by the price you were given.
These are medicine prices. Request a price for the named product along with all the other parts of the care plan.
How can I get a useful total?
Ask for the charges to be separated. Put the answers on the same page. Leave any unclear item open until it has been explained.
- Visit
- What is the assessment fee, and what happens when the visit ends without a prescription?
- Membership
- Is there an ongoing fee, a minimum term or a prepaid commitment?
- Medicine
- What is the continuing price for the exact product being proposed?
- Tests
- Which tests are being proposed, and what is the separate charge?
- Delivery
- Is shipping included, and is anything else charged at checkout?
- Follow-up
- Are later reviews included, or priced separately?
Then ask for the total during the offer and the total after it. Compare plans using the same set of charges.
A price for the medicine alone leaves out charges that a full plan price may include. Ask what is included before placing them side by side.
What can change after the opening offer?
Some online weight-care services advertise separate membership and medicine fees. Those offers do not show how much you will be billed.
Many cash offers and cards that reduce a medicine’s price promised those terms only through December 31, 2026.
Ask when the offer ends. Ask what the next price is, how cancellation works, and whether unused prepaid time is refunded. Keep the terms with the quote.
For insurance or a medical spending account, check the payment rules before relying on a reduced price.
An offer’s end date says nothing about the price charged afterward. Ask for the current price and the conditions for getting it.
